Mexico’s Grand Mayan Resort Home To ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ 2015 Cast
Filming for Bachelor in Paradise 2015 is underway, and the cast is staying at the Grand Mayan Resort in Nuevo Vallarta, a vacation resort 25 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. Spoilers indicate that 16 out of 27 contestants for ABC’s summer reality show started arriving in Mexico last week, with the remaining 11 scheduled to show up on various episodes throughout the season.
The Grand Mayan Resort looks to be a step up from the resort the BIP cast stayed in last season — the Casa Palapas Resort in Tulum, Mexico. According to Reality Steve, the cast complained about not only the bad food, but the bugs that joined them during their stay.
“Roaches, scorpions, and insects ran rampant, the food was terrible, hot water wasn’t always readily available, and the place they stayed was kind of a dump.”
This season, 27 singles may find love, but will definitely create drama in Mexico. While Steve states that the contestants are currently staying at The Grand Mayan, it is not known if they will stay there throughout the season, or if they will move to less luxurious housing as the show progresses.

Going from a bug-infested “dump” to a five-star resort has to be costly for ABC — perhaps they expect cast members like Ashley Salter, Jade Roper, Brian Osborne and Tanner Tolbert to bring in big ratings, so they upgraded their living quarters.

According to the resort’s website, the rooms are luxurious and there is a long list of amenities, including a spa, 18-hole golf course, several pools, and water slides.
“Immerse yourself in the world of the Mayans at the grand entrance to the resort. Imposing, larger-than-life Mayan figures greet you in near-total darkness… a Mayan pyramid that doubles as a water slide, a “lazy river” that winds through jungle vegetation… steeped in the tradition of the native culture and rich with the modern conveniences of a five-star resort.”
