A SENIOR Tory MP has criticised the head of the Diplomatic Service for belittling Britain’s status in the world. Sir Simon McDonald, who is responsible for Britain’s worldwide network of embassies and consulates, “wound up” Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely after he dismissed Britain as just a “medium sized nation” which needs the help of others to get its foreign policy objectives.
